A Positive Approach to Excessive Sweating
July 31st, 2010Karl Jung famously said “What you resist, persists”. You may not have heard of or know a lot about the Law of Attraction, but this basic statement displays one of the Law’s main principles – anything you think about you attract. And whenever this is anything you probably don’t want, you are likely to think about it even more and with genuine feeling - which means you get more of it, more quickly.
So how does this affect the issue of excessive underarm sweat or hyperhidrosis as it’s technically known?
Well, if you suffer from this problem you probably don’t need me to tell you that when you start to sweat, you get stressed…which can make you perspire a lot more.
You end up so mindful of your excessive underarm sweating that it is all you are able to think about, and you’re considering it using such concentration that, based on the Law of Attraction, it’s inevitable that you’ll sweat more.
Imagine that, even when you’re not sweating, if you are intending to work in an office all day, or are on the way out for a date, it is likely you have in your head the concern that you’re going to begin sweating – although it hasn’t actually happened yet.
Precisely what will this worrying about sweating do? It keeps the condition in your mind and links a really strong feeling to it so in the end, you begin to sweat.
The Law of Attraction would almost certainly take more than the space on this page to explain in more detail, however if you can believe that considering the problem makes it worse, you can use the Law to help you. When you give some feeling to more optimistic thoughts the Law says that this is just what you’re going to get.
If what you are looking for is to be sweat-free, self-confident and dry all day, then give some concentration to that. Visualise yourself at the office sitting back in your chair along with your arms behind your head but not a hint of perspiration showing on your shirt or blouse.
Picture yourself on a fantastic date where you can get really close to your partner because you know your armpits are dry and fresh.
If you’ve ever heard of or used affirmations, they are a large part of using the Law to your benefit. By affirming, saying out loud or in your head, what you would like the positive result to be, the Law will take notice and deliver this end result to you.
Affirmations should always be positive and in the present tense to be truly effective, for instance you could try saying this every morning just before you go off to work.
“I am confident and comfortable and my underarms are dry and fresh all day”.
If it is the first time you’re reading about the Law of Attraction it might be a little difficult to think that these concepts will have any influence, but if you have faith in what you’re declaring and do it repeatedly, you should see a noticable difference.
Even if you are somewhat sceptical, what have you got to lose - aside from maybe your excessive underarm sweat?
If you are keen to understand even more about how this technique and the Law of Attraction operates you may want to take a look at a book by Rhonda Byrne called “The Secret”.
